Got mine up to the 90's...okay 91 indicated. But I am in Hawaii, not much straightaways, quite a bit of traffic, enough lawmen, and I am not to concerned with top speed on my supermoto. Bottom line, it felt maxed out but not totally caned...if you know what I mean. But I'll do 70-75 all day if I had to...just not comfortable at that speed...for a number of reasons.

What they all said. Flat and level, 91-95 is about the best you're gonna see.

I know this is an old thread but I was damn proud of my bike when it got my fat ass up to 90 indicated. That was on a freeway while passing a semi, but like the others said it is a little squirrelly above 80. 70-75 it is just fine just watch your fuel level if you go for to long, it shaved 25 miles off my tank and caught me off guard.

Hit 92 today on a slight down hill.

Was asking myself why?

Seems like it would take a long time ot hit 90 on a flat straight. But I'm around 230. :D

The bike is bone stock but I have a Yosh full Ti system on the way.

mine show 165kmph (102mph) but i had to lay ot it for 15 min and wait.
DRZ-SM was totally stock.

in upright sitting position 152km max is reachable.

Trouble is - there is no Front+1 or rear+2 tooth sprockets available for DRZ-SM.
:headshake

anyone can suggest where to find 39t rear sprocket?

Level ground, indicated 98 mph with an FCR and a FMF Titanium 4 exhaust with quiet insert. Did not take long at all to reach the 98 mph. If the rider had stayed in the tuck, triple digits would have been likely. This is all hypothetical, of course.

Hypothetical 160 lb rider with about another 15 lbs of hypothetical gear in a hypothetical tuck.

Well, I couldn't wait to tinker with my bike before it was broken in, but after adding a DJ kit, the 3x3 mod and opening up the restrictor cap on the tail pipe I ran mine up to right around 96-97mph before shutting it down because the bike only had about 600 miles on it. Zooms up to 80 with no problem, but it sure takes a while to get into the 90s from there. Gonna change the intake cam and pipe soon and I'll let you know after that. I'm still trying to track down a resonably priced used FCR39 and hopefully that will help a bit also.

With stock gearing it ends up being almost exactly ..... MPH * 100 = RPM. Therefore since the S/SM CDI rev limit is only 9K you should expect around 90 MPH maximum speed if you hit the rev limiter. The stock speedo is not perfect. It has some error.

My bike has all the goodies (of course) including an E model CDI which bumps the rev limit to 10k. With 15/41 gearing top real speed is just under 100MPH. Like 99MPH. I use a veypor speedo so its calibrated and has "real speed". And I don't have to rely on that tailwind or hill either!

Now when I drop in my Yosh 450 motor and 11k rev box..... should be 110MPH. But who cares about that. Its all about how fast you get there.... something I am sure it wont have any trouble with also.

[OLD THREAD REVIVAL!]

Recently, I made 107 (indicated) with a slight tailwind. Probably could have gone a little faster if I hadn't shut it down. Going back the other way a few hours later, I could only muster 103.

I think it's faster now that it's more broken-in and Yoshi system adds a little HP over the FMF that was on it before.

105 indicated the other day..before that my top was 100....will post again after FCR and pipe...looks like the yellow really might be faster:Funny::Funny:
That's it! :thefinger The gauntlet has been thrown down.

Honestly, I think I could probably go a little faster if I took those billboards (aka stock mirrors) off the handlebars and put Dualstars on it. I'm probably going to bump up to a 160 main from the 155 to see if that gives me a little more HP toward the upper RPMs, per Burned's advice.

I know SMs aren't about top speed runs but, dammit, the black has got to be faster.
