If you live in Hawaii and ride a supermoto please introduce yourself!
& Since the motorcycle section on Forumshawaii is largely made of sportbikers, I'd much rather most here.
Eventually I wanna get some supermoto-only rides.
so LMK!
anybody wanna ride sunday morning? Damn it, rode the kart track for the first time in months last saturday and now i'm fiending..... I don't know if sunday is the best day to go there though.
watsup guys, I got a yellow DRZ400 with Acerbis headlights, Live on the eastside if any one ever wants to ride hit me up. Shoots. And who was the guy I was talking to today? steve right? 05 crf450.
My bike is coming along though. Just installed a set of renthal fat bars and risers. A acerbis sp? supermoto fender, Shortened the levers, new grips and when my triple clamp comes a set of probend hand guards that are already here at my place. Speaking of renthal.... awesome company... I am completely sold on them now. My bars and risers showed up at my place the day my son was born. I tried to install them thinking it was going to be a 5 min job. I ended up breaking one of the mounting bolt studs that hold the risers in place to the triple clamp. I cursed myself for my ineptitude and swallowed my pride called renthal and told them what I had done. Told them I need to purchase new mounting bolts studs... The US rep must have felt bad for me... told me he would send me a free set!!! 2 days later they showed up fedex express to hawaii... cost me nothing!!!!! I am a customer for life now.
Just a question for the LOCAL boys what brake set up or kit do you guys recommend for a bike. I'm torn between the braking, motomaster, or magura and the other brands that are out there.
I think alohar1 is running the motomaster flame kit front on his honda 450x... I rode it seems to want to stop on a dime. My brembo brakes are pretty sweet. but the motomasters are nice
I got the stock system with the EBC 320mm rotor and spacer. I think its a great balance between feel and power. But it does start to fade fairly quickly i think. It could be because the brake fluid needs to be flushed. Its the cheapest route to go. I'm happy enough with it right now and I don't feel the need to upgrade anytime soon.
just today I installed the braking 320mm rotor and caliper relocating kit with new Galfer ceramic disc pads and a braded ss line and so far its good. From what I understand the pads have a slight break in period, but on the way home I did a couple of small stoppies and they seem to be much better than the stock so far. I will keep you guys in the loop for how they progress.
Any of you guys here in hawaii know where I can get some 2inch dia perforated tubing? I got some extra 625 smc mufflers that I am going to modify by shortening them and turn them into straight through type muffler.
try glenn's cycle supply. 3703 Waialae ave. in Kaimuki. Ph: 732-5547. glenn used to have some new muffler cores for dirt bikes collecting dust for years. i don't know if he still has um.
