I'm gonna need coffee man.

Hey...do they sell WR 250's in Westminster? I hear things...

And no crackers in the Supermoto class. International Law.

Click on "CAMMRA Mini Racing" under Cam's post. This is a link to his web page that will tell you all about us. I hope to see you ask to join our group on Facebook also.
This is just what you and your brother are looking for...close to home, low budget, great fun. I am sure we will see you racing this year.

Hey Pastor, I just added you to the group. The short story is that I made a pleasant departure from SEMRA and will be holding races at Middle Georgia Kart Track only. We are not a traveling series. I would love to have both of you guys. Stock based rules to reward the guys on a tight build and race budget. Thanks, Cam

Sorry Cam I'm out Buddy. I just noticed that the SM class has been modified. I'm not real keen on running against 150r's on a track built for 150r's. They turn faster lap times because they can take the switchbacks faster, but that's it, and they can't pass on the throttle or clean-on-the-brakes so they do these crazy testosterone-loaded banzai moves trying to get around. Last Nov. one of them cut the corner/rode thru the grass and about collected me when he popped back out right in front of me. And another pulled a Robbie Neely slicing off my front. Hadta check-up so hard I about lost it and all I could do was hope Stason and Dave behind me wouldn't plow into my back-side.

And I think it dillutes the Supermoto class too. Even though the 150r turns a faster lap on kart tracks like mgkt, they don't put on the show that the SM bikes do.

I know you're just trying to keep the grid full and provide another class for the 150's to run in bless your heart. But on a track as tight as mgkt where outright power is moot, racing against bikes that weigh almost 100 pounds less and have a much shorter wheelbase is too much, and sumpthin's gonna happen...I'm too old and cranky to get busted up by someone on a mini who's got something to prove. And my cranky side says I could care less if the 150r guys whine about only one class to race in. I've never heard the Supermoto guys whine about that.

But in the end though...CAMMRA is a mini organization, not a Supermoto organization. You're gonna have more 150r's than Supermoto's anyway. In your place, I would gear the outfit to cater more to them too. It's smart business and I completely understand.

But on a track as tight as mgkt where outright power is moot, racing against bikes that weigh almost 100 pounds less and have damn near a foot-shorter wheelbase is too much, and sumpthin's gonna happen...I'm too old and cranky to get busted up by someone on a mini who's got something to prove. Whoa, whoa, whoa my Mountain Man friend..... I have talked to a few of the SuperMoto guys. I am thinking to make a change in the rules. Here is what I propose.....

SuperMoto- Full size SuperMoto bikes only unless the class has less than 4 entries. If 4 SuperMoto bikes enter, no mini's of any configuration is legal. If there are less than 4 entries of full size SuperMoto bikes, Minis with 17" wheels are legal.

Hey! Do not change-up the program because I am a baby! You must do what's in the best interest for CAMMRA! Adjusting things to provide the most for your larger customer base, including the 150r racers, is entirely logical. You're a bid-nessman now homie and I would do the same thing. Losing money for the sake of a few is not acceptable.

And sorry I got a bad cold today and I'm all pissy. Even Honda won't talk to me.

I am a business man but it is in construction, not racing or a racing organization..... If you try to make a living in the racing industry, you better be at the top of the food chain. Phil Herrin and I will never get rich doing a race series...... We do want to listen to input from supporters of the series though.

I have not made any flyers yet..... I suck at computers..... I can get PicPapa involved and get that going. I have no problem with anyone working with PicPapa to make flyers and such to promote the series. I want everyone involved to feel like they can help out and pitch in. Thank you for your interest and ideas. Cam

I'm all about spreading the word! Seems like every time I ride my KTM around town and stop somewhere people are very interested in coming out to watch/take part in some supermoto racing (b/c 9 out of 10 times people are just wondering what the hell that dirt bike is doing with street tires on it but thinking it's the coolest thing since sliced bread  ). I'm already subscribed to the thread so I'll just continue to watch it for more flyer info. Anything I can do to help with said flyers, let me know.

I've been keeping an eye on this for a while and everything sounds great! MGKT is an awesome place and I'm sure it'll be a blast. Not sure when I can ride again (recent college grad looking for health insurance... lame, I know) but I would love to come check things out and hopefully ride there again soon!

Very cool! I can send you a flyer to your email. Simply send me an email to cam@mmracing.biz and I will will reply. Thanks!! We have a SuperMoto class but it is no split in to 2 different classes. The 250's don't give up much to the 450's at this track. I ran a stock engine 250 and finished 3rd at a Florida SuperMoto race (asphalt only). Josh Herrin won (on a mod 250) and a guy on a 450 got second. Our biggest focus is a fun atmosphere and close racing. We all have a lot of stress at work and in life, let's have a good weekend at the track. Thanks, Cam

ps, The best "bang for the buck" is the XR/CRF100 class.

This sounds awsome. I mailed in my form last week so hopefully you guys got it (Adam Russell). I'm in KY and I've made it to MGKT about 3 times a year so far(10hrs ea. way). I love the track and the peeps are cool. Just started on the mini-SM, but have ran pocketbikes there a bunch. Can't wait.

Our kids will be doing demonstration races at the Nationals to promote road racing for newbies and kids. Come check it out if you live close......
