Hey!! Bought me a 1998 CR500 for 1800.00 today:bringiton. Pretty excited! Want this bike to convert to track only supermoto. I have been doing alot of reading and there is mixed feelings about it and from what I gather is that the CR500 is at home on the track with the thumpers, just not going to have the fastest lap times. The last 2 stroke I owned was a 2001 YZ 125. So I know I am about to get my cherry popped by this bad ass 2 stroke monster. Please EVERYONE, give me links for ANY INFO, PARTS, ETC. I have already joined up with two CR500 forums to get the latest gouge. I have been reading about the AF modifications that can be done to these in order to make them even better than they already are. At this point in time I want to get the essentials on there first, wheels, tires, brakes, chain guide, etc. Again any info on these parts and where to find would be steller. Thanks Again!

Nice bike mate, photos are a bit dark. like the gold wheels and levers, how does it ride, you no the starting techinic,
Your right, they are crappy cell phone pics, took on the fly as I just got the thing finished today. If you want I will take some good shots tom with my good camera. So far so good, today was the first start, kicked over on the 4th or 5th kick, drove it a short ride and returned. Only issue I will work out tom is the idle, other than that, I am hoping for the best.

There are a few different methods of starting out there, which one do you prefer?
