I have a 1994 KTM 440mxc. I would love to turn it into a streetard, but don't know how.
I've seen twa stroke platd in California. I live in Va. so I assume I could get my bike streer legal here. If anyone outthere know anything about streetarding a two stroke please let me know what I have to do Thanks
do everything like a 4 stroke, headlights and stuff, but you need to apply for a custom title. Just dont tell them its a dirtbike, but rather a bike your custom making and you should be able to do it. Thats what I have heard on the boards before.
I went to the DMV and asked them what it would take to make my "custom" bike street legal so I could get tags.
They printed me a list of everything that they would be looking for.
It makes it real easy when you have the answers to the test!
Inspection wise visit your DMV and ask for that checklist of items. Chances are these items are what you would expect; operational headlight, tail light, brake light, horn, turn signals, mirrors, etc.
Advice from anonymous net users is good but direct first person fact finding is best.
NO, I got my XR600R which is a factory dirt bike insured as if it was a streetbike, and it passed inspection in about five minutes. If you have what the DMV paper requiremnents say you need, they can't ask for anything more. Im going to plate my 1987 RM250XX when I period superbiker tard it.
