If you live in Hawaii and ride a supermoto please introduce yourself!
& Since the motorcycle section on Forumshawaii is largely made of sportbikers, I'd much rather most here.
Eventually I wanna get some supermoto-only rides.
so LMK!
Is it possible or feasible to get a bike from Big Island to Maui for track days?
I will let you know soon about the VT plate. My 06 KTM 400 exc will be arriving next month from NY. It has VT plate on it now. My fj09 had SD plate, but that is road legal.
aloha everyone, finally picked up a sumo of my own and super stoked. Got a stock drz exhaust and headlight if anyone's in need of. If anyone's down to ride this Friday or anytime shoot me a pm. shoots!
Had to sell my DRZ. Let it go for Dirt cheap too. But those 2017 FE450s and 501s are comming soon. Patience. Wish we had a road track. I really want the new FS450. Oahu problems.
Big Island dmv said no registration for me because it did not come factory street legal, even though I have VT title and full dual sport light kit. Looks like VT plate will stay.
Aloha!
I am moving to Hawaii in December, more specifically Kauai. My question for all of my fellow riders is this...
I have followed the Hawaii guidelines for a street legal motorcycle for my CR250R with only a few "sketchy" workarounds like using a cellphone mounted to the handlebars for a speedometer/odometer and temperature stickers for a temperature gauge (other than that it is a very clean motorcycle). It is currently tagged, titled, and insured in Oklahoma.
My question is will i have trouble getting it tagged in Hawaii? Very curious to know because i plan on this being my ONLY mode of transportation until i am better established.
Been a long time since I've been on but I'm getting that sumo itch to use to commute to work n stuff. Any suggestions? I can't stand DRZ400SM's though but I like the idea Yamaha WR250X. Kinda on a budget though. Any help or leads would be greatly appreciated.
I found an 08 Husky 450 smr on CL but it seems to be in rough shape. 20k miles, rear fender is busted and left side is rashed from looping a wheelie. It's also back on reg $300. He's asking $3k.
I'm in Hilo and could ride over to Kona to look at it for you if you want. If it is stored in the house, it is probably cared for better than that other one.
Well fellas I went over to Hilo Friday to see the 09 Duke 690. Test rode it and loved it! I know it's not a true supermoto but I'm happy. I just need to get it shipped over to Oahu. Let the fun begin!
I have a request for anyone on the big island that can help me? I'm buying a motorcycle skid from kiser and having it dropped off near the Hilo Young Brothers. Young Bros told me I need to have the bike strapped down to the skid and brought into the yard on a truck. Can anyone help?
