After much deliberation i picked this baby up for 9600. Its a brand new 08. Its freaking awesome. Decided to keep the 2 stroke sumo too for kart tracks and general stupidness.
the handling is awesome, Ive ridden some gsxr's and having the handlebars vs clip ons is awesome. So much leverage. I havent owned a pure streetbike in a while so i had a little conflict with the technique. i wanted to shove the thing in a corner and throw my foot out but i quickly got adjusted. I only got 26 miles on it before i had to park it and head back to afghanistan. Thats the shitty part!
Thanks for your service. I fucking love my SDR. O8 just like yours but white. They are wicked fun. So much torque. Im sure you have read about them and Im sure you know where to go online right?
The stock pipe is heavy. I know you hear that but wait until you take it off holy shit it is heavy.
You do know about tune ECU also right? Open source mapping/error code software is a huge deal.
Anyway nice choice man they are fucking nice to have.
Yeah, Plans for mods are
Motohooligan Airbox, Fmf Apex Carbon cans(MADE IN AMERICA:thumbup Tune ECU I just need to get a windows laptop Mac is no bueno for that, Frame Sliders, and a tail tidy, got any suggestions? Possibly a HID headlight. As sad as it is I'm looking for a stock Superduke tail section to thow on there for riding the old lady around.
a lot of people drop a tooth on the front sprocket for better power wheelies and takes out some of the twitchyness....maybe thats for the regular 990 dukes and not the r though....and yes a hid kit would be sweet...im waiting for mine to arrive and i plan for the hooligan box and and front spocket, it has akapvics already
