Hey everyone!
Great forum you guys have!
Here's my bike. A '06 Yamaha XT 660 X with a few changes.
The changes are:
- 2in1 OTR header with akrapovic silencer
-harder suspension settings (the stock setting is too soft)
-higher handlebar-
-black vinyl stripes to add a bit more style to the bike (so i like to think...LOL)
In the next few months there may be some more extras coming (powercommander, racing air filters, oil radiator)
those header's are a vast improvement over the stock yamaha underslung front pipes.
the standard front forks tend to be a bit spongy a thicker fork oil makes the front more stable especialy under braking yamaha use a 5w oil try a 10w oil.
i swapped out the front forks for some WP one's and used 10w oil in them (see the modded xt 600 thread)
makes the bike handle a lot better mid corner.
bitfuzzy thanks! next time you come to portugal drop by and meet the Sumo guys in town.
Michelangelo i find it weird that Yamaha doesn't import the XT for you guys
Thanks Brian but the camera isn't that good. it's a cheap 200$ Fuji
Wolfzero i didn't change the oil i simply added a compression spacer in each spring because i didn't want a slower suspension i just wanted a harder one during braking.
Thanks Wholigan
Pecha yeah it's kinda heavy but well it's not a top of the line Sumo. with a few changes it can easily reach 70bhp
I had the MZ Street Moto...which was the german version of the XT....it's weight seemed high as well....till I realized the bike was weighed FULL of fluids (completely ready to ride)....with a 28 pound exhaust system and a tool bag...plus plus....so in reality its not "much more" than the others...besides it a street tard that has a bullet proof motor, very comfy to ride and handles very very well....not to mention it has stump pulling torque which is what a thumper is all about...yes they can reach 70 hp quite easily....so...its not a race bike...but a real good lookin tard....
the spacers in the forks are an ok mod but its just adding preload to the springs unless you use progresive springs you dont get the full benefit.
i found the 5w oil was a bit too sloppy in the WP forks i fitted on my xt600.
its all down to personal taste and how you like it to feel.
Nice wheels man)
Can you please make a closer photo of handlebar and exhaust pipes (before silencer) and also give me please the name of the products wich U put on it....and ofcourse I would be grateful if U make a closer photo of your tail light and maybe add some instruction how to cusomise it so i can done it and it wont be ugly or something etc.
