Is there a problem if I use a resistor type plug in a non resistor application?
My bike calls for a D8EA or CR9EK. But I have some Splitfires that will interchange with the DR8EA, which I think is the same as the D8EA except resistor, right?
Any ideas on issues or problems with my idea to use the Splitfire? A mechanice friend told me not a good idea. So what should I use then?
I ran shitfires in a car once, and they are junk. stick with the ngk plugs. the EK plug is really nice. have one in my DRZ. if you have a CDI box on your bike I would stay with a resistor plug so you don't get any interuption on your bike.
Resistor vs non resistor becomes very important when entering a very tight turn and the reception on your radio gets static. If you are backing it in and trying to retune your radio at the same time it could get hairy.
id play it safe and just stick with what the manual says
