There is a series of ads kinda toward the bottom that you can scroll through horizontally (if that makes any sense).

ohhhh i see it now....i've been checking the site religiously for the last month or so......and i never saw that
i hope they offer the wr450 in more than one colour though....every year its the same blue, hopefully they will release a white this year as well........
anyone think they will release a new or upgraded wr250X?

looking forward to seeing the new R6, should be a great machine as the current one is still the benchmark for 600cc racing bikes.

Fingers crossed they chopped $9000 and 200 pounds from the VMax.

Oh my prayers will be answered if they do a WR 450 based off the new YZ. My X will be sold in .002 seconds

I thought about putting a headlight on my YZ like this one. Super easy I guess... just plugs into the tuner port.

i doubt they will make a street legal 450 sm.........its too big a risk for such a small market........plus the euro manufacturers have that piece of the pie already......

i'll be happy with just a fuel injected, reversed engine WR450F........
will convert if needed......plus i'd rather put my own brake and suspension setup on it than buy a slightly watered down version......

i foresee the Yamaha website crashing at noon today..........a lot of ppl are excited, and since i think its a web-only launch.......the site will see a lot of traffic.......
i saw shots of the updated R1......it has traction control now.......same old look with a couple tweeks to the front fairing and exhausts.....some ppl still don't like it......i've liked them from the day it was launched.

i'm more interested in the R6 and WR

NO I watched the video of it and unless they screwed in the video this is the 2012 WR 450F. They said it like 50 million times and I even was wondering WTF with saying all new 2012 WR 450F so many times

HA, good luck. it does need a lower msrp. but it doesnt know those extra 200lbs are attatched to it. that bike still runs in the 10's and will wheelie like you wouldnt believe.

    just saw the vid........
    i'm not sold on it........yet
seems like they did what honda did and took out the carb and put on a TB.....not the best way to go.....end of the vid shows some accessories that aren't on the site yet.....
looks like the power tuner is available, a full gytr head and what looks like a map switch....
have to research the frame........plus no wet weights listed......

I know I'm not the only one wish this was the 2012 WR 450F/R/X but its a step closer to what I was wanting for new street legal 450 (being green sticker makes it simple)

The nice thing about the 2012 WR is that its green sticker which means you can build your own X in any state... even Ca.

Yamaha missed the mark on the new wr.

No 6 speed, no backwards motor, the white plastics look unfinished, headlight looks dopey. I'll give them points for the FI if it has Yamaha reliability.

I was expecting nothing from yamaha in terms of the WR. I am actually surprised that the WR450F now has F.I.

It is a step in the right direction...

My thoughts: The WR F series from Yamaha is really a tiny market for Yamaha if you think about, so dropping all the $ in designing a new 6 speed backwards motor with F.I. and e-start is not very cost effective. And who knows maybe they couldn't get the longevity out of the "backwards" 4v motor that they wanted so they made a few adjustments to there solid 5v 450 motor, trimmed the fat from the old WR by using the 250F chassis (which from everyone I talk to say handles amazing) added a tunable fuel system and called it a day. Yamaha will sell 10 YZ models to every WR so its pretty simple.

They have there reasons... I mean look at there 250F bikes, still running carbs with everyone has F.I. but they use the carb cause it builds more power (no brainier).

We all want a WR 450X.... Time to face the music, Yamaha doesn't see a need for a 450 Supermoto.... Buy a KTM 450 EXC and order the Limited Edition Blue Cycra plastics. At least Yamaha is doing something like this, Kawi, Suz and Honda have pretty much wrote the Dual Sports off.

i think australia gets them as well
you can buy supermoto wheels from the dealer (as genuine yamaha accessories) and then u have a "factory" street legal 450sm.........
it does look good in street trim.....

here in Trinidad, if i buy new from the dealer, i have the option of US or euro spec.......if i'm going to pick up one of these, more than likely it will be the euro spec........

i just did a little digging.....in street trim its heavy......285lbs wet....
not sure of offroad trim weight......

    europe also gets this:
    Yamaha Competition Kit

An optional Competition Kit is available which is aimed at riders who use the WR450F on closed courses. The kit includes a resonator exhaust system, as well as a 13/50 sprocket set and number of other performance parts. There’s also an optional Power Tuner system which allows riders to adjust the engine performance to suit varying conditions.

how is 285 heavy.. my wr250x weighs in at more than that and its by far the funest and best all around streetbike stuntbike ive ever owned. i would be completely happy with that much power and being that light. the wr250x is right around 300lbs wet. ill take a few more pounds in a heartbeat for an extra 25 HP

well in street trim, on the street.....285 is not that bad.
but lets assume that in dirt trim (without horn, indicators etc) its 270-275......thats a lot for a dirt bike in the dirt.......
on the street its not so bad, but in the dirt its going to become hard work throwing around that weight for a few hours......

the bikes are getting heavier and heavier because they are being packed with tech to keep ahead of the competition..........

that said, a lightweight battery, full titanium exhaust and a couple other cuts here and there and 10-12lbs could be shaved easily.........
