I have a couple excel mx stands and the suck ass. I'm sure I'm not the only one that is tired of this. Has anyone modified their stand so it's stable? I did cut the shaft on mine so it doesn't go so high and slides under the frame without lifting. I have yet to address the "sliding" issue
Instead of cutting my dirt bike stand I bought another one just for my shorter street-tard. I bought a MSR/HP Pro Lift Stand and it works great. It adjusts to 11 positions from 9.5" to 14.5" tall and is very stable. The bike sits on a wide/square rubber topped base and the stand is very stable. Below is a link to one of the seller’s websites.
Im making a stand with similar operation -
for the base Im using a 5 leg steel leg base from a office chair -
want bike to be stable --might make it so I can spin bike if I want-
garage is so small and packed
