I was able to put a 3.5x17" the rear and I have a standard swingarm on mine as well.

I bought new wheels from Rad Mfg; didn't have an issue.

Default 17" tire diameter/2 exceed length of swing arm....

Hi, I too thinking of 17" wheels for my standard YZ85.
With a standard swing arm, it's going to be very tight.
I think you have to push the wheel all the way back, put certain size of the tire, and need to change the rear sprocket gear.
Let me know if this work.
    Thanks

I have built two YZ85 chassis' with 17" wheels on stock swing arms. You have to use 125 GP slick tire size on the back. Not the big bike tire sizes like 120/70 or 80. Run the wheel pretty far back. Change of gearing will depend on your tracks. But it does work. Have done it. I use Bridgestone GP 125 slicks 120/600-17 on the back. (Which I sell too) You don't have to buy the expensive Yamaha extended swing arm. But you can also extend the swing arm. (Which we can do for anyone too). Hope this helps for anyone not sure.
