Default 2010 Mini Road Racing Nationals to be held at Herrins

Phil Herrin and family hosted their first race this weekend with SEMRA. It was a huge sucess with lots of the FLAMRA and GAMRA crew attending. Phil and I started talking about the 2008 National and he said "Let's have the 2010 here." I happily agreed along with lots of others. This facility is evolving in to a "Mini Barber". Check this place out. http://middlegeorgiakarttrack.com/

I am thinking June ish........ I will talk to Phil and Josh Herrin, my wife due to summer vacation, and lots of you guys. We have to stay away from the AMA Superbike series because of Josh and the school days since we want all the kids there with the adults.

The Economy......... I don't have money to risk and no one wants to sponsor anything this year...... The 2010 will be worth waiting for. Phil Herrin and family are great people and have a great track. Cam

I have looked at the almanac and weather history for Dublin Ga. In October, they average high of 83 and low of 53. How do all of you feel about a Halloween race? Just throwing ideas out..... I want the majority to decide when the race is. With kids in school, I just thought a Summer race was easier....

    A holloween race in 2010?

Deff not on the MIMRA schedule I know 90% or our core group would not even think about it. Its gonna be a push for me to get them to commit to the summer "SEMRA National" event.

Kids have school and sports. If you want people that have to drive 10+ hours one way it has to be in the summer. Well for people that have kids that race and also are top students.

Personally I can't miss a day of class to race much less anything else, it would have to involve serious illness or death for me to miss class.

I am fine with a summer race if most of the groups are. Cam

I think your best approach is to contact the club directors that are "truely" in control, and go from there........

We are already planning our dates for 2010...........

Do what ya have to do We certainly are just to make sure we have first go at tracks for 2010 in our local area

Yeap the more basic the better....... those big $$$ bling toys are sweet but its far more fun to battle on budget stockish minis

So what has become of the 2010 regional/national at MGKT? I am assuming Cam is out of the process, so whats the deal for a prospective date Phil?

Any word on a date for this yet? We are putting our 2010 schedule together as we speak and need work around this date.

I agree that mid to late June is a good time as the kids will be out of school (depending on the amount of snow days we get) and the weather should be great.

    Thanks, Anthony

Chuck Shorie hosts multiple "mini nationals"............. USMGP.........

There have been "mini nationals" held out in cali for a few years now as well..........

There is no ONE governing body to sanction any one event to make it "the mother of nationals"......

To hold a "national" and let anyone race is not really anything that holds weight.......... You have to have qualifications to make it to "nationals" IMHO

GO FOR, it NJMINIGP could host "the national" for 2010
