Default SMJ Rally at the Gap!

Spring of next year why don't we all get together and meet up at Deal's Gap? Can you imagine if there were a bunch of us up there at one time? Sumo's take over the Dragon!

I say sometime in April. Maybe do some big wheel racing at night. Have some kind of stupid raffle and shirts made.

    Whatcha think?

just a suggestion, lets do it the last week of april. I'm normally there for hayabusa bash that week anyway. I'm sporting a sumo also this year. Would be great to meet up also with some SMJ people too!

Last week of april is cool. That way we can pass those big ass busa's all day LMAO!

If there is enough ppl. Maybe we can book something at a cool hotel for all of us. Like this one: http://www.thetreetops.com/

If even 10 of us are serious about this, willing to put a deposit down for a room in a place like this through paypal, then I say we can have a kick ass time.

yeah ive got to get my dead loss battery system set up before then also.

i talked to one of the photo women when i was down at the gap last month. (she caught and awesome series of my buddy eating shit and baseball sliding on his chest off the road haha) she said they really arent to strict on the bikes down there as long as u can see the plate. any of u locals chime in cuz i dont have turn signals....

May 27, 8th and 9th is the two stroke meet. I have to dodge that. Beginning of May will be fine. Beginning of June too.

Last years SMJ Rally was during the 2 stroke weekend, very cool seeing some of the old 2 smokers...

Cops at Gap dont care about signals..Road being mostly in Tenn, that state is pretty lax, kinda like Ohio....

If this Rally becomes reality...Lets try and do it right...Try and get as many Junkies as possible.

Got a few street tarders here in Chicago that i could get to rally down

If I could add my .02, I would want to try for this during the week as weekends down there are a frickin Zoo - 10:00am on a Tuesday is a great time to run the Gap - Light traffic and lees tourists like us

    1. Ok. I say since there is more than 10 people that will probably show up, we need to pick a date. I say a whole week, but I know a few can't swing that because of y'all having 9 to 5 jobs. I work offshore, so I will be there a whole week like no problem. How does Monday May 3rd - May 9th sound? Nothing concrete. But we will need to get something soon. Because I know a few guys have to put in their vacation days at the beginning of the year. I cam make my schedule work anytime. And plus i'll go up there at least once before then since I only live 6 hrs away.

    2. T-shirts. I don't know about everyone else but I would love to have a SMJ rally shirt. It doesn't have to say Supermotojunkie, but something like that. Ideas on a shirt would be cool too. Get a design together and we can order some.

Might be down. I am currently planning a Sportbike group ride to Arkansas in June with a bunch of the guys I am currently deployed with. Looking at renting a house then. so It will depend on how my funds look when we get closer that and on my wife's attitude when we get closer.

If anyone is game for July and cannot make the April dates, see my post in Group Rides. I have the Ridge rented for a week and I need three more riders to fill it up. Gwetting married in April and a big party (receptionish thing) in May so July was the best I could do.

Cops suck, lie and use inadmissible evidence... Fight a ticket next time better than I did... Ask the Judge what kind of vision a liar cop has to have, to see just how "close" you were "weaving" in and out of traffic by, if he was 3 cars back? I got news for you liars, we all look like we're "weaving in and out of traffic" from behind!

    Usually go 2x's a year.....Early Spring -- Late Fall......

Wouldn't mind a Sumo ONLY trip this spring.

BTW ---- +1 w/ TreeTops.... one of the houses also has a large pole-barn to park all the bikes inside.....w/ a TV & ping pong table.... cool to hang with the bikes, drink, and talk about the day.

Stayed at the Motorcycle Resort (gas station) one year..... hated it. No where to put the bikes, cement block rooms w/ bunkbeds. Gas station closes early....mad house during the day.

If you don't have a preference about where your bikes are stored, I've LOVED staying at the phillips in Robbinsville. Its a mom and pop joint with decent rooms at a great rate and they have a fire pit to stand around at night. Lots of rooms for lots of bikes.

At the busa bash at the end of april we usually take over the place with 100+ busas. It usually a great time.

I like all the ideas so far: week long, t-shirts, riding other roads, etc.

Will there be any R.V. hook ups near or at the hotel in question? With such long notice like this I may be able to rally the troops from TEJAS and have a large group road trippin'. I can sleep 7-8 in my 5th wheel so somewhere close to everyone else for us to park would be cool. for the nightly beer BBQ and B.S. sessions.

Dude we've been doing this for a good long while now and you know what......it never works out like we plan it to work out.

We all meet up and some people stay here and some people stay there and nobody ever sees the rest of the people. Sure we all pass here and there and wonder "Are they with our group?" but very few actually get together.

The biggest one we had was like 3 or 4 years ago and about 15 of us really got together and had a great time. The past few weren't as good though because we couldn't get very many people to commit.

I'll go on record as saying that if we go up the first week of May I'm in for sure.

Keep these folks in mind too.....nice ride between there and the Gap www.settlersmountain.com

........ just posting up a time when everyone will be there.... doesn't work. There will ALWAYS be conflicting schedules....

    Someone needs to take point....

#1 set an exact time and date
#2 reserve a place that will fit 15-20 people
#3 Start a thread.....and start taking pre-payment for the week
#4 If you show up for less days....you pay the same basic amount

In the end.... it will only cost around $75 a week per person.
