Default Bronze seats for crf250r

I am getting ready to re-build my top end on my 08 crf250r and i have everything to do so but decided to go with KW SS valves and springs to match, i have heard talk about bronze seats but i dont know anyone that is using them. Is anyone using them and if so where do i get them and what are the advantages/disadvantages? Any help is greatly appreciated

are you sure it's seats and not valve guides? i think they use bronze seats on dragrace motors (not 100% sure) with nitro. no need for those in sm engine.

Go to www.bigborethumpers.com they have a valve seat that will work great for the 250r. The beryllium copper is the most prevalent seat for mx performance apps with Ti valves.

Thanks. I think i am gonna stick with putting OEM stuff back in until the complete re-build next year. I tlked with Marr Performance today and the owner convenced me otherwise, he recommended keeping the stock ones and using the KW set-up for the head with stock seats, he also told me that when i get ready to really build the motor to go with the bronze seats and use OEM Ti valves.

I have very little clue about this but be careful, from what I've read SS valves are good for mellow woods riding but not going to keep up with hard track use. Talk to someone who has experience building these things before putting it all together. You'll probably get good answers on either crfsonly or thumpertalk boards.

I heard the KW SS are the best valves for the CRF's for longevity as they don't fatigue as fast a the TI valves. with the right springs and seats I think they will hold up alot better than the TI valves for the occasional track day and the weekend rides.
I am switching to KW ss when I change mine in the next year or so.
