I think Xsquiggy is real close to you. OSD is only 15 mins from me and it looks like i'll have room in the truck. If I need to, I'll hook up the trailer and tow up also. Lilshit told me he won't know his work schedule until like Thurs or Friday. He said he also has a truck and will probably drive up on his own if he goes.

Ok, so I'm riding w/ Wholigan? That actually makes more sense than me going to VA friday night, not that I didn't want to visit though.

Oh btw, I have the 690 SMC now so I'm confirmed for this ride, barring the unforeseen.

Well CAm is out and no word from xsquiggy. If I do not hear from him by tomorrow I will assume he is out. OSD and wholigan if you want I can still get a enclosed trailer and we can all go up together. I can goto OSD house Friday and we can load up there.

I'll probably end up driving anyway. Still haven't heard from Lilshit or my neighbor. Man, for you to get to Silver Spring early enough to load up 2 more bikes would put you leaving Va at like 5am!

This usually happens the week before the ride.......people commit early and then bail out a few days prior to the ride due to one reason or another. It's all good. We will still have a good sized group

Casesavers and TT skidplate are on......let's get muddy!!!!!! Still waiting on the gripper seat and knee armor....Damn, just remembered, I gotta put my new grips on too!!!

Sounds good to me. Darn, I'm sad that Cam's out. I was looking forward to having the DCSBN KTM team there in force!

Sorry for the crappy photos. I drove 22 hours straight back from KS and was a little shell shocked yesterday when I took these. If I can stop riding it long enough, I'll snap some more.

Well what I would do is come up Friday night and spend the night at OSD. I guess if you are going to drive up no matter what I will just head up alone. Funny I went to going up with 3 now just me. SLACKERS!

So the following riders have dropped out?
- Wholigan?'s neighbor
- Lilshit
- CamDlux
- xsquiggy

If so, that still leaves us with 16 riders.

P.S. The weather forecast looks great for Saturday

I'm still seeing a high of 56 for Saturday, but it looks like it might be chilly in the morning so bundle up. I'm gonna wear some layers and bring a backpack to stuff it in as the day progresses.
http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/...ekday=Saturday

I'll take the cold any day compared to rain!

P.S. I've revised my "time sheet" with mileages and estimated trip time. Should come in at exactly 7hrs from start to finish (perhaps sooner).

Be ready to ride at 9am. Kickstands up and we're gone.

It's gonna be a blast!

-Banning.

Under Armor Cold Gear works wonders as a base layer Although it's cold in the mornings, usually by 10:30, it's up to the 50's.

Gotcha Riderx. Perhaps we can sew together a suit made of bitch warmers? (LOL)

All,
1) I forgot that Lilshit mentioned to me before that he has difficulty getting time off of work and usually doesn't know till 1-2 days prior. Hopefully he can make it and post up as soon as he knows.

2) Finally, all of us locals pretty much wear full gear on all our rides (ATGATT -- all the gear all the time). Better to fall and get back up again than hold up the entire ride while we wait for an ambulance. If you have gear, don't leave it at home. Better safe than sorry. I had a 50mph getoff a month ago that a couple of you guys witnessed close up. Because we were going to do some offroading that day I almost didn't wear my leathers. Luckily I did, otherwise I'm positive I would have gone to the emergency room and even now probably wouldn't be sitting down in my desk chair typing this.

See ya on Sat.

OK gangsters, I'm out due to last minute plans. I'm heading to Deal's Gap (on the other bike) tomorrow through Sunday, to rerun Western NC and the N. GA Mtns. I'll try to make the next ride, or host a group ride rummaging through VA/WV, or both. I ride year round, so there will be plenty of opportunities coming up. Enjoy and be safe!

We'll hook up Mike! You're only 3 miles away, and I know some great roads. Couldn't pass up the opportunity to revisit Deal's Gap this weekend, (my 5th time this year ).

Nope. I'm all excited for this ride.

Besides, I'll be in NC in a couple of weeks visiting family. Gonna take the motard with me.

Damn, I'm getting anxious. Here's a couple videos to pass the time. I know I'm riding like a total wuss (I just got the bike) and the video sucks (bad frame rate)... but we'll have much better ones after this weekend's ride is over!

Creek Crossing:

Rollercoaster Hill & 82:

Creek Rd:

...and this one's for TJD, who can't join us since his Husky is temporarily down (the one in the video) -- Husky 610 burnout:

I'm just messin' man. I know this SM ride will be totally kick ass!

A buddy of mine is already in NC and the opportunity to meet him and ride my favorite roads came up at the last moment, otherwise, I'd be there.

I'm still undecided on which bike to ride. A few posts up, Mike asked me if I've ever ridden the KTM 2.5 hours straight, then 9 hours of twisties, then 2.5 hours back. The honest answer is no. The most I've ridden the KTM is 430 miles in one day. However.....

The 690SMC is perfectly suited to ride Western NC and the Suches, GA area. And since Robbinsville is only 550 miles from my front door, the orange bike is calling. If I take it, I'll do a full ride report here. Otherwise, the RR will be posted on ADV.

Take lot's of pics and post up a report. Your ride is gonna rock !

I can't fucking believe you would take Deal's Gap over a chilly ride in Delaware!

Still haven't heard from Lilshit, Neighbor is still avoiding me at all costs I think I scared him when I mentioned the off road sections I don't think his KTM 950sm has ever, ever, ever seen any type of gravel road, let alone real mud

Dodge and Orangeshirtdude, I'm just planning on driving up myself in the morning, That way, if my neighbor does make a last minute decision to go, I will still be around to help a brother out with a ride. Plus my babysitter will be here at 7am.....doesn't leave me much room to spare time wise to get up there, unload, and prepare for destruction

Weather looks like sunny as hell, clear skies all day, with a high of 54-56 degrees........we won't mention the lows.............

Dam wow! I guess the 4 bike enclosed trailer I borrowed is overkill then. At least the bikes will be comfy on the ride up and back. If anyone in the DC area needs a ride up let me know tonight. I have room for 2 people.

Don't forget to build in some time for arrival, guys! I know Banning will want to get emergency contact info from everyone and also have a pre-ride discussion. It would suck to leave someone because we dont know if they were coming or not and its after 9a.m.

wholigan?: Tell your neighbor that ALL the gravel roads would be passable on a sportbike (well, maybe at 5mph). The offroad section is 100% optional. It starts in Riderx's driveway. For those who don't want to do it, take a smoke break and wait for us, or it is a very simple 15 minute ride from there back to the start/end point.

All: In case any of you oversleeps or can't make the 9am departure time, here are a couple alternative meeting spots. Make sure you send me a text message or voice mail to let me know you are late. Cell: 302#250#1123

10:00am -- Landhope Farms gas station.
Kennett Square, PA. (Intersection of Kaolin Rd & Rt82)
http://maps.google.com/maps?daddr=53...2,0.06566&z=14

11:00 -- Sunoco gas station.
Chadds Ford, PA. (Intersection of RT1 & Creek Rd)
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sour...3&ie=UTF8&z=12

11:30 -- Wawa gas station.
Downingtown, PA. (Intersection of 322 & Boot Rd)

I can't believe no other DCSBN hooligans will come on this. Weak sauce must have gotten poured into the water supply.

+1......I plan on being there at 8:30, fully gassed and getting my gear on.

If everybody sends me their screen name, real 1st name, and cell # by 8pm tonight, I will put together a master list and send it out to everyone attending. Just print it out and take it with you in case you run into a bind on the way up Banning put alot of work into putting this ride together, the least I can do is put together a contact roster. If I already have your info, please send it to me again in a pm, don't wanna forget about anyone!
