Default Shinko - 705 Series Dual Sport Tire

Has anyone tried this on their SM. I'm finding scattered reports on TT, but nothing conclusive. Looks like the 120/90H-17 TT and 140/80H-17 TT may work for my WR250X. I'm wondering how the extra height in the tire could hamper cornering performance? Tires do look pretty meaty though.

you are worried about the height hampering cornering performance? i would be more worried about the hard ass compound affecting hard cornering

I run them on my DR650 with a stock rear and 19x2.5 front and I like them. Good traction on the road, and they can handle fire roads and gravel ok.

Lots of info on these tires at adv:

I actually just bought a dl1000 shod with these. The bike will need a little work before I can get it on the road, but I'll let you know.

woult the 120 90 work on a 17 2.5 rim? I have one laying around and rather than buy a 3.5" I've been looking for dual sport tires that will fit the 2.5"

I'm worried a bit about the height, but the bike it will be going on [WR250X] is my fiancee's bike and I'm looking for a tire that will be OK for gravel or light offroad for campgrounds and fire roads. Nothing major, I just know how slippy my SM is with Pilot Powers off road and I'm looking to give her a little more confidence without ponying up $250 for tires. She doesn't push it too hard on the road so I'm fairly confident that she wouldn't even know the difference.
