SDG Step Seat for DRZ400 Interest?

I am trying to see if there is enough interest from DRZ400 owners in the step seat that SDG sells to justify them producing some. I am not affiliated with them at all, but I figure if we can come up with a substantial number of people wanting one, we might be able to convince them to make a run. They already make the seat pan for the DRZ so half the battle is already won.

If you would buy a step seat for the DRZ400 (their list price for the step seat is $129, seen as low as $99 on different sites), please post here.

Well, I emailed SDG and at this time, they have no plans to produce a step seat for the DRZ. They will soon be offering a step seat kit to convert an existing seat.

That lead me to do some more looking. I had looked at Guts Racing's website (http://www.gutsracing.com) a few times because I had read good things about their seats being comfortable. This time when I looked, I saw that they are offering step seats, and to my surprise they offer one for the DRZ. Even better, they are physically located about 30 miles from me.

Yesterday, I went by and dropped of my seat to have their tall, soft pad installed with a step. They said it would be done this afternoon but I can't pick it up until tomorrow. I will post back after I get it with pics and comfort report.

Ok, I have had the seat for a while now but just finally got a chance to take the bike for an extended ride. I did about an hour on it before I felt like I needed to take a break and stand, which beats the stock seat by about 40 minutes for me. In addition to being more confortable, the gripper cover and the step do wonders to keep me seated in the proper position. Before, I tended to slide back on the seat as I rode, but now that will no longer be an issue.

The seat is a Guts Racing, tall, soft pad with the step added on top. I asked them when I picked it up and pricing as you see it, for internet or mail order, is approximately $135 plus shipping. If ordering, you need to order both the replacement seat foam ($55) and then the step seat kit ($80). If you have no issues with the stock seat firmness but want the step, just order the step seat kit.

Here is a picture of the seat installed:
