So I recently bought some warp 9 wheels for my crf250x. I am new to this and now need help figuring out what tire size. I'm most likely going with Michelin pilot powers or powers2ct. I was planning on a 120/70/17 in front and a 150/70/17 in back. I know some people run 160/70/17 in back but I want to minimize chain rubbing. Does this setup sound good? What are some other recommendations. This is for 95% street riding. Thanks!

I have a crf 250 converted to sm and im running a 150 on a 4.25 rim, i get chain rub and its pretty close to my tyre.

I can post some pictures of how close it runs to the chain if you want?

Heres my crf250r with a 150 shinko mounted on a 5" rear rim. Ive got a 120 on the front. The actual width of the 150 tires will vary among manufacturers. You should be alright with a 150 but to be safe you may want to make up a chain slider to keep the chain from slapping your tire.

O, and my front is a 120/70-17, thats what most supermoto guys run on the front. The 60 will turn quicker but the 70 will get more grip in the corners. Since your bike is a very light 250, I would suggest the 70. Another good mod for your bike is to swap out the long bolts from your lower chain guide (the one near your sprocket), with countersunk bolts. You put the countersunk bolts on from the inside and put the nuts on the outside. This will make installing and removing the rear rim much easier.
