Hi there,
I'm pretty new to this forum, I just picked up my wr250x used from the dealership. I have not wasted any time in making this bike my own. So, here are some pics. I could'nt find any graphics that I liked so I made some fit with a little trimming. I'm still waiting on my tank shroud graphics to come in.
If any one is curious what I used, the rear fender graphic is for a 02-09 yz 125/250, the front fender decal is for I think a 06-08 YZ125 I can't quite make out the label on that one. For the air box and battery panels I used Fork guard graphics for an 08 yz/yzf 125/450 that I cut up a lot to make 'em look the way they do now. I'm not sure if I like it yet,but I'll have to wait till it's all done before I decide. Just throwing some Ideas out there, let me know what ya'll think.

How to remove the large decals on the shrouds? High pressure car wash and a 60 degree day did the right side sticker in on mine in one motion. Pffft, gone. The left side came off in a couple "snaps" when I pulled it. Wasn't even using the hotter wash with soap just the rinse to kill some of the road salt / sand I had picked up. Killed 80% of the Yamaha labels on the fork covers also. Pic is after the cleanup.

The agreed on proper way to remove decals is to warm them with a hairdryer or heat gun and gently peel them off. Use some Kerosene or nailpolish remover on any glue thats left behind.

Man, that sucks about the pressure washer deal. I will be staying away from them for my future cleanings. I use simple green and a scrub brush for everything but the plastics, then I use car soap for the plastics.

The graphics that were on mine were aftermarket and they were so thick that I lifted one corner and ripped the whole thing off in about a second. After that I used some goo-gone for the remaining glue.

What did you paint your heat shield with?
For the heat shield I used some spray paint. The exact paint was rust-oleum satin black. I didn't think I would need hi-temp paint since the part I was painting was plastic. I did however paint the metal shield over the header with the same paint, it seems to be holding up fine to the heat. I put about 70mi on it yesterday and all the paint is still there, and the same color too. If you do paint it use a grey scotch brite type pad to scuff up the surface and do a few light coats and it should come out nice.
